Editing Property Descriptions for Websites

Article ID: 182

Summary

Shows where you edit the description of your property for the website within the web group functionality for short description and long description.

Editing Property Descriptions

To edit property description for the website go to Sysconfig > Website > Web Groups > Choose web group > Edit Properties > Choose property > Show Editor Pop-up. This will bring up the WYSIWYG that is used throughout VRM to edit various text. Please view the tips for using the editor here.

Property description that shows on website.

WYSIWYG editor

When you are done editing your text you need to say OK in the WYSIWYG editor but you also MUST click save on the description screen as well.

Web Group Backups

Whenever you edit web group content for a specific property, a new entry will be created under the History tab.  This allows you to restore previous versions of the web group descriptions for that property.

Show advanced options

By default, saving the description will save the description across all web groups that the property is assigned to. You can have a different description for each web group if you choose.  For simplicity, we recommend keeping the default option.

To edit the description for just the web group you are in, click the show advanced options check box. Then choose the button for "Just This Group", then click save.

If VRM has created an alternate detail page layout for you, this is where you can change that value as well. Do not change it unless you know for certain that VRM has created a page for you and has given you the name to put there. If you do change it, it will break the link to your property if the customized page has not been created.
